death in Deadwood
South Dakota. The most widely accepted version being the the black aces, the black
eights, and the nine of diamonds, but commonly any aces and eights are referred to as
the "Dead Man's Hand."

now any 10 & 8 hand. Locally well
known favorite hand of the late Mike O'Connell, a well liked casino owner and long
time resident of Deadwood
South Dakota. Many locals play this hand for good luck and as a tribute to Mike.
